Santa Cruz Public Libraries
Below are 4 programs available at select local libraries. The libraries listed in the contact will have the associated program # to which libraries have the specific program you're looking for.
Internet (1). Access using Library terminals is available at all branch libraries during open hours. All branches have at least one internet workstation, and each branch has its own rules for signing up. All Santa Cruz library card holders get one hour free per day by using their library card number and PIN number to log into the internet computer, which is also equipped with Microsoft Office.

Laptop Lending (2). Laptops are loaned on a first come, first served basis and are designed for use inside the library. An SCPL account in good standing and the completion of an SCPL Laptop Use Agreement are required for checkout.

Lendable Technology (3). Tech Take-Out is a new lendable collection of tech devices that can be checked out by people who don't have access at home. The collection includes Amazon Fire 7 Tablets, Chromebook laptops, WiFi Hotspots, and Chromebook + Hotspot bundles. Library cardholders can visit the catalog or use our mobile app to search for and request any of the devices or the bundle by name. Borrowers must be 18 years or older, show photo ID, and a lending agreement must be signed. The checkout period is 3 weeks, just like all other library materials.

Wireless Internet Access (4). The Santa Cruz Public Libraries provide free wireless internet access points or hot spots that are available 24/7. This service is available to individuals with portable computers or mobile devices.
