WiSE organizes luncheons and workshops throughout the academic year. These events focus on topics that impart skills and knowledge to empower women to succeed in STEM fields. Often the topics for luncheons and workshops are based directly on requests from the WiSE membership. All UCSC undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, staff, and faculty are invited to WiSE luncheons and workshops.

Dr. Carley Corrado and Dr. Shaila Kotadia are alumni of UC Santa Cruz in the biological and physical sciences. In 2012 they co-founded the WiSE Outreach program. Shaila currently focuses on STEM and diversity, equity, and inclusion at UC Berkeley and in independent consulting. Carley facilitates workshops and events to support innovative organizations to build an empowerment culture, as well as consults in the areas of science and business development.
